Mike Bennett was born in Rantoul, IL where his father taught meteorology for the U.S. Air Force. Later, his family moved to France where his father was transferred to the U.S. Air Station in Chateauroux. Memories of visiting Gothic cathedrals and country churches in France left an impression on him. He has painted many churches, farmhouses, barns, and mountain cabins in his art. His work is on many greeting cards, international stamps, paperback and hardback book covers, magazine covers, newspaper illustrations, puzzles, pixel hobby crafts, audio cassette covers, murals, tin signs, and posters. He has taught art for the Yucaipa/Calimesa School District and was awarded a California League of Middle Schools – Educator of the Year Award.
